  • Standalone Farm Wilbury Road Letchworth Garden City, England, SG6 United Kingdom (map)

The most important Astronomy image?

Nick Hewitt (BAA)

Nick will be well known to you who read the BAA journal “Sky Notes” pages.  He has been a keen amateur for many decades. Although his strengths are in the Deep Sky (Director of the BAA's Deep Sky Section 1992 to 2003),  he is  also an enthusiastic eclipse chaser, imager of Mars (when not too low!) and enjoys all aspects of astronomy.  He joined the BAA in 1967 - 1974, lapsed during his wine, women and song years but rejoined in 1983 and has thoroughly enjoyed the support and friendship of many great amateur and professional astronomers.

His Historical talk will cover in  detail what he feels is justified as being “The most important Astronomy image” .  Along the way he covers a wide range of astronomy topics which I found engaging and  extremely interesting when I heard it a the BAA Northampton meeting in April.

£2 for members and £3 for visitors.

This is a physical meeting held at Standalone Farm but it will also be available on Zoom.

Please purchase your ticket via MemberMojo to receive the Zoom link if you wish to view from home.
